Christine moved with her husband and three children to Townsville in early 2009 and loves the sunshine and relaxed north Queensland lifestyle!

She completed pre-clinical medical training in St Andrews University in Scotland, her clinical training at Manchester University, England and her Specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine within the Liverpool Deanery, England.

Christine has been a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at The Townsville Hospital since January 2009 and has a particular interest in liver, pancreatic disease and interventional endoscopy. In addition to gastroscopy and colonoscopy, she regularly performs ERCP as well as diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound.

She holds a certificate in Medical Education and is actively involved in medical education both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is also a committee member for GESQ (Gastroenterology Society for Queensland) and is on the Endoscopy Faculty for the GESA (Gastroenterology Society for Australia).

In July 2014 Christine and Dr John Masson established Gastroenterology North Queensland based at the Mater, Pimlico in Townsville. They moved to purpose-built rooms in Park Street in 2016. Following Dr Masson's retirement from private practice, she now shares with Dr Gillian Mahy (Mahy Gastroenterology) and more recently Dr Des Patrick.

In her spare time Christine enjoys spending time with her family (and dogs), climbing Castle Hill and has recently discovered running.
