Dr Christine Welch
Christine moved with her husband and three children to Townsville in early 2009 and loves the sunshine and relaxed north Queensland lifestyle!
She completed pre-clinical medical training in St Andrews University in Scotland, her clinical training at Manchester University, England and her Specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine within the Liverpool Deanery, England.
Christine has been a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at The Townsville Hospital since January 2009 and has a particular interest in liver and pancreatic disease. In addition to gastroscopy and colonoscopy, she regularly treats patients requiring ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound and Fine Needle Aspiration procedures
She holds a certificate in Medical Education and is actively involved in medical education both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
In July 2014 Christine joined Dr John Masson to establish Gastroenterology North Queensland based at the Mater, Pimlico in Townsville.
